Make Space For Yourself

Self Care Sunday - “Make Space For Yourself”
Before making room for everything else, make a little room for you.
November has a way of making the year feel as though it’s gathering speed. The days are getting shorter, the weather is turning colder, and before we’ve quite finished with autumn, Christmas has started appearing everywhere. Shop windows are filling with decorations, diaries are getting busier, and there’s suddenly a lot to think about before the year comes to an end.
It’s easy to get caught up in everything that needs doing, everyone who needs something from us, and all the plans we’re trying to fit in. Before we know it, we’re making room for everything and everyone except ourselves.
So, this month, we’re taking a moment to think about something simple but important: making space for you.
Focus Topic: The Importance of Making Time for Yourself
Making time for yourself doesn’t have to mean booking a weekend away, spending a whole day at a spa, or finding hours of uninterrupted peace. Sometimes it’s much simpler than that.
It’s having a quiet coffee before the day begins. Taking a little longer over your morning routine. Going for a walk without feeling you need to be somewhere. Or simply switching off your phone and enjoying a little time without the constant noise of the outside world.
It’s also about recognising that your time matters. Saying no doesn’t mean you’re letting people down, and taking a break doesn’t mean you’ve been lazy or haven’t done enough to deserve one.
We can sometimes become so used to being available to everyone else that we forget to check in with ourselves. But making space for yourself isn’t selfish. It’s about giving your own needs, interests and happiness a place in your life, too.
And with the festive season just around the corner, it’s worth remembering that November deserves to be enjoyed in its own right. We don’t have to rush through it thinking about everything December will bring.
Ways to Make a Little More Space for Yourself
- Protect a little of your time. You don’t have to fill every spare moment. Leave some room in your day to do absolutely nothing, if that’s what you need.
- Get comfortable with saying no. Not every invitation, request or commitment needs a yes. It’s okay to recognise when you’ve taken on enough.
- Make everyday routines your own. Whether it’s your morning coffee, a skincare routine or getting ready for the day, slow down and enjoy those little moments rather than treating them as another task to tick off.
- Switch off from the noise. Give yourself a break from notifications, social media and the constant stream of things competing for your attention. A little quiet can go a long way.
- Don’t put happiness on hold. You don’t need to wait for the weekend, a special occasion or the perfect moment to do something you enjoy. Make room for the little things now.
Bud Bombs Product Tie-In:CBD Infused Beard Oil

This month’s product feature is our CBD Infused Beard Oil, a little reminder that personal care can take many forms.
Despite the name, looking after yourself doesn’t come with a gender label. While Beard Oil is a natural addition to a beard-care routine, its blend of oils can also be incorporated into other grooming rituals, including caring for hair, the scalp and cuticles.
It’s a lovely example of how a small part of your everyday routine can become a moment that’s just for you. Whether you’re taking a little time over your grooming routine or simply enjoying the feeling of looking after yourself, it’s about making that time count.
Key Ingredients :
- Vitamin E Oil: Helps condition the skin, keeping it feeling soft and cared for.
- Fractionated Coconut Oil: A lightweight carrier oil that helps the formula glide easily and spread without feeling too heavy.
- Balsam Fir Oil: Adds a fresh, distinctive woodland aroma, bringing a lovely natural character to the blend.
How to Use:
For beard care, place a few drops into your palms, rub your hands together and work gently through the beard, paying attention to the skin underneath.
For other grooming routines, use a small amount on the hair, scalp or around the cuticles as desired. Start with just a little and adjust to suit your routine.
Self Care Ritual: A Little Time for You
This month, set aside ten or fifteen minutes that belong entirely to you. No rushing, no multitasking and no feeling that you should be doing something else.
- Step away: Put your phone aside and give yourself a little breathing room.
- Slow things down: Make a coffee, put on some music or simply enjoy a few quiet moments.
- Enjoy your routine: Take your time with a little grooming or personal care. Use your Beard Oil or another product you enjoy, and make the moment about looking after yourself.
- Do something just because you enjoy it: Read a few pages, sit outside, listen to your favourite music or take a little walk.
- Let the moment be enough: You don’t need to achieve anything or turn it into something productive. Sometimes the best thing you can do is simply enjoy having time to yourself.
Closing Note:
As November unfolds and the festive season gets closer, remember to leave a little room for yourself amongst all the plans, preparations and expectations.
You don’t have to be everything to everyone, and you don’t have to wait until everything is done before taking a moment for yourself.
Make time for the things that make you happy. Enjoy the quiet moments, appreciate the little routines and don’t feel guilty about putting yourself first now and again.
Because making space for yourself isn’t about taking something away from anyone else. It’s about remembering that you deserve a little space in your own life, too.
